November Rain? still....

Sheesh, it's raining again. What's up with that? I know one thing, it's kicking the crap out of my sinuses. Enough already.

I finished both sweaters for the Dutchicans. The darker one is the same as the lighter one, but the details are murky due to the crappy indoor lighting. And last night at the group in Troy I did this: I'll make one more exactly like it and the package will be ready to get sent out. I know the boys will be too small to wear these for a while, but they'll be waiting for them as soon as they are bigger.

I'm still plugging along on the shawl for my mom, and ordered a 52" cable from Denise and an extra set of size 15's. I'm going with the glue spec to tacky them up a bit, and I hope the ginormous cable will be big enough to get thru the rest of the shawl. It's pretty scrunched up on the 29" it's on now. I need to pick up the SO's sweater again, I don't know WHY that thing is just dragging. I'm actually thinking of casting on a pair of socks for him to work on at the same time, just to combat boredom.

I spun for about an hour last night, and I tell you what, that was really relaxing. There's something very calming about the spin-spin-spinning of a well oiled wheel and watching the beautiful single flow out of merino and angora in a heavenly silver gray color. I wonder what it's going to be..... I hope to spin some more this weekend, I've missed it. I still wish I could figure out some way to quit my job and do that full time, I'd be so relaxed I wouldn't recognize myself. I'll keep dreaming.

Have a great day! Oh, and my blogiversary is coming up the end of this month. I can hardly believe I've been doing this blogging thing for a whole year now. Take care!

November Rain?

At least you don't have to shovel it. Yesterday, in contrast, was absolutely beautiful, so I'll take 'em when I can get 'em.

We got to take the kids up north which translates into extended knitting time for me usually. I was able to finish Odessa (for me) and Dutchican's sweater #1. I need to zip thru the second one and get it in the mail. Go check out my FO's page to see pics and stats.

I am plugging along on SO's sweater, or at least his second sleeve. Once I cast on for the body I'll feel like I'm really making progress. I'm also moving slowly on my mom's shawl. I sharpened the tips of the bamboo needles and then clear coated them with nail polish. Now I'm worried the cable won't be long enough. I think I bought the 29" and I might really need a 40". Arghh! I'll be a pro by the time I get around to MY shawl, this one has been educational to say the least. But I got thru the first ball of New Magic, and am working on the second, so it's progress. I still have 2 sweaters in the wings for myself, and SO is bugging for another pair of socks since he finally busted out and wore the first pair I made him, while up north on a boy's weekend. Gee honey, they're really warm and comfy, can I have another pair? Uh-oh, now I've gone and done it. I've gotten him hooked on hand knitted socks. I myself am sporting a couple of pairs so I understand the attraction. I bought some hand painted something or other from Susie up in Grayling, so they're in my bag to cast on for him. I might have to whip out some Wool-Ease socks for him too, and make him feel really loved. (Those are less hassle for him than to remember to wash in cold and hang to dry). But if he loves ME, he'll remember to do that whenever necessary. God help him if he wrecks a pair of hand knitted socks!

Have a great day, and don't forget to VOTE! I won't even tell you which way, just do it!! Use your voice!
